At NuZine, our ethos is founded in the belief that our involvement in a project can be born at any point in the process. And, although the process should always remain the same, not all projects are created equal.
Projects may follow a relatively straight course, but sometimes they zig and zag, and we pride ourselves on being able to jump in anywhere, or anytime we are required.
With team expertise in Design, Project Management and DOB Processes, our cooperative approach to projects allows for team flexibility, clients having options, and needs being fulfilled by a single point of contact. NuZine, is also certified by New York State as a WBE company.
SERVICES
NuZine was founded to facilitate designing, building and closing out commercial design projects in the Tri‐State area. All projects begin and end in their respective phases

Programming: Interview Client to determine needs and goals; Evaluate job site; Inventory existing furnishings, finishes and equipment to remain; Document existing conditions, Meet with Landlord's team to ascertain Building rules and regulations, Determine feasibility of meeting client's requirements
Concept Design: Develop aesthetic concept of project; Coordinate with consultants; Review Building Code requirements; Generate preliminary space plan and test fit documents; On board Architect and Engineer
Schematic Design: Create preliminary floor plans, ceiling and lighting designs; Preliminary selection of new furnishings, finishes and equipment; Prepare elevation and perspective renderings, Start outline for Department of Buildings requirements; Review preliminary budgets and schedules
Design Development: Present preliminary design to Client; Finalize space plan, furniture, finishes and equipment locations, Develop specifications for custom designs and assemblies; Prepare final presentation plans, renderings, finishes and mock ups for Client approval
Construction Documents: Prepare working drawings for Government Agency submissions and General Contractor bid; Assist client with qualifying vendors and onboard required Special Inspections Agency
Contract Administration: Attend weekly site meetings; observe and report conditions and progress to Client; Prepare purchase orders as necessary for FF&E procurement; Assist with determination of substantial completion, Review payment applications; Create punch list and Assist with close out of project
Project Management: Organize Client for relocation; Assist in development of scheduling and budget; Develop and issue Request for Proposals for IT vendors, Movers, Locksmith companies, Window Treatment installers, Equipment vendors, Cleaning Services; Signage and Specialty contractors; Level bids and on board firms; Execute lease requirements for vacated space; Schedule and coordinate teams with General Contractors schedule and Assist with close out of project
Project Close Out Solutions: Analyze, trouble shoot and offer real solutions towards project close out. Guide team members through required sign offs for DOB Letters of Completion and application withdrawals; Value Engineering and FDNY Letters of Approval
PROJECTS
We specialize in commercial projects 50,000 square feet and less for landlord renovations, demolition and white boxes, capital improvements, retail and garment industry end users as well as tenant build outs for tech companies, corporate offices and showrooms. We design to reflect the Client's brand in the environments we create, while considering function, cost and aesthetics. We approach every project, no matter our role, with focus, dedication, enthusiasm and common sense to align our team with the Client's goals.
